A ground-up build takes a year, and the story of it is really the story of the thousand small decisions that add up to a home.
The Marine Avenue lot came to us the way most of our work does: a neighbor of a family we had built for a decade earlier. They had watched that house get built, watched it hold up, and when it was their turn they knew who to call.
Groundbreaking
We spent the first month before a single shovel moved, walking the lot, studying the light, understanding how this family actually lives. The best plans come from watching, not asking.
Fourteen months later they moved in. Dennis or Reid was on site nearly every day of it.
